When we had our front sprinklers redone a couple of weeks ago (right before our vacation), I asked them to add a drip line in front of the fence, so I wouldn't have to water these by hand. The flowers seem to appreciate the more consistent watering--some of the plants were noticeably bigger when we returned.
It's a work in progress right now. I plan to add more perennials, along with some bulbs for early spring.
